Step by step
Confirm the profession and licensing authority
Identify the Florida board or authority for your profession. Confirm that a PLLC is permitted for your activity; eligibility is not automatic for every licensed professional.
Verify licenses and professional entity rules
Verify all required licenses before filing. Confirm ownership, management, naming and any professional registration requirements with the licensing authority. Our checklist records confirmations; it does not approve a license.
Gather the professional filing details
Prepare the professional business name, permitted professional purpose, ownership and management information, and principal and mailing addresses.
Appoint the Florida registered agent
Confirm a physical Florida registered office and an eligible agent who accepts the appointment. Keep the state designation fee separate from the price of an annual agent service.
File the Articles after verification
After required license and entity checks, submit Articles of Organization through Sunbiz. The state fee is $125: $100 for Articles and $25 for registered-agent designation. Licensing costs and our service fee are separate.
Maintain licenses and annual reports
Keep licenses current, retain entity records and file the LLC annual report January 1–May 1. The state annual fee is $138.75, with a $400 late fee after May 1. A PLLC does not eliminate professional malpractice responsibility.

License verification comes first
Confirm with the relevant Florida licensing authority whether your profession may use a PLLC, who may own or manage it, and any special naming or registration requirements. All required licenses must be verified. A Sunbiz filing does not authorize professional practice.
Filing a professional LLC
Provide the professional business name, eligible professional purpose, ownership and management information, addresses and a Florida registered agent. The state fee is $100 for Articles of Organization plus $25 for registered-agent designation.
Ongoing professional obligations
Keep professional licenses current alongside entity records and annual reports. A PLLC does not remove professional malpractice responsibility. Obtain legal advice on professional liability, ownership and regulatory requirements.
